Throughout the 2025-2026 academic year, AGEPoly worked together with the Mobility Office and the Associate Vice Presidency for Education to review and improve certain aspects of the exchange program. This came in response to work and surveys conducted starting in spring 2025, the results of one of the first of which can be found here [link].
The following changes take effect starting this year:
- Transition from two application periods to a single period, for both exchanges within Europe and outside of Europe. The application deadline is set for December 1st.
- The number of destination university choices increases from 6 to 10.
- The minimum grade to apply to all destinations, whether European or not, is 4.5, with exceptions requiring at least a 5: Polytechnique Palaiseau, ENS Paris, and ENS Lyon.
- For applications within Europe, the Learning Agreement is no longer required at the time of application submission. It will now need to be completed and signed after the selection process, specifically for the university where the student has been selected.
- For applications outside of Europe, a motivation letter is no longer required at the time of application submission.
- Students who change sections after their first year are no longer considered to have repeated a year for the purposes of the selection process.
- New exchange platform: Mobility Online, which will be used starting this year for application submissions.
The web pages on the EPFL website covering third-year exchanges have already been updated to reflect these changes [link]. This information will also be communicated in the coming weeks to individuals wishing to go on an exchange.
