Representation Assembly (April)

  • par

On April 10, student representatives from all sections met for the second Representation Assembly (AdR) of the spring semester. Several topics were discussed, including the reports of two working groups and the points to be brought by the delegation to the semester meeting between the representatives and the EPFL board.

The first item was the report from the delegation charter working group, represented by Samuel Bélisle. The created charter was presented, along with potential changes to the LEX that would give it legitimacy. The representatives approved the charter as well as the changes to mention it in the LEX. The next step is to present this work to the EPFL.

Next, the working group on the possibility of retrying a passed course in a failed block gave an initial assessment. The results of the survey showed 85% of agreement by the respondents to making this rule more flexible. It should be remembered that this WG focused on retaking a course to avoid definitive failures, so anything to do with retaking courses to raise your average was not considered.

Another item on the agenda was the points to be raised at the semester meeting between student representatives and the EPFL board. Six points were discussed: The cancellation of the project keeping the best grade on a second attempt at an exam, EPFL’s recommendation not to remunerate during Master's projects in companies, changes about Moodle archive’s access, a request for a follow-up on Mental Health Task Force’s recommendations, the booking of rooms by student representatives and the absence of the cushions at the Rolex. It was voted to bring the first four points to the meeting with the EPFL board.

Finally, the co-chairs for Representation at AGEPoly informed the representatives of a project from the Teaching Support Center (CAPE) to identify student workspaces at EPFL, the goal being to improve them (signs, equipment, etc.). Several delegates volunteered to map these spaces.
