Palantir at Forum EPFL

On September 15, 2026, AGEPoly learned of the planned participation of the company Palantir in the 2026 edition of the Forum EPFL job fair. Several members of the student community expressed their opposition to the company due to its values and the context in which its products are used.

Following this, AGEPoly met with Forum EPFL to discuss the matter and understand their perspective as well as the situation in which they find themselves.

AGEPoly decided to launch a survey regarding Palantir’s participation and the question of whether ethical criteria should be applied to companies present at the EPFL Forum. The survey closed after receiving over 1,000 responses in one week. The aggregated results are available here and are overwhelmingly opposed to Palantir’s presence at the EPFL Forum. Students want the Forum and EPFL to apply ethical criteria regarding corporate participation, and for AGEPoly to take a stance on the issue.

Following the preliminary survey results, AGEPoly has decided to oppose Palantir’s participation in Forum EPFL. AGEPoly met with the EPFL spokesperson, the Provost’s delegate for student relations, and the latter’s deputy to discuss Palantir’s presence and to explain and present the arguments for its position.

AGEPoly has therefore decided to take a stand against Palantir’s participation in Forum EPFL and to call on EPFL to impose ethical criteria on the companies present at the event. The statement outlines the context and operation of Forum EPFL, the actions and communications by Palantir that have sparked controversy, the reasons behind AGEPoly’s position, and its specific demands. It is available in full here.

The following day, Forum EPFL announced that the SwissTech Convention Center had decided to deny Palantir’s participation for security reasons. AGEPoly shared this news while reiterating its position and the need to apply ethical criteria to companies attending Forum EPFL. AGEPoly subsequently held further talks with EPFL, and discussions regarding the establishment of such criteria are expected to begin once a person is appointed to supervise issues related to student associations.
