General Assembly

The General Assembly (GA) is the supreme body of the Association. It meets several times a year to make strategic decisions for AGEPoly, such as validating the budget or electing a Management Committee.

A bit of history…

The association was founded in 1951 under the name AGEPUL (Association Générale des Étudiants de l’École Polytechnique Universitaire de Lausanne). In 1964, it changed its name to the Association Générale des Étudiants de l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
Since 2020, it has been called Association Générale des Étudiant·e·s de l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

In 1983, AGEPoly developed several projects for relaxation and meeting places under the name Spongiflex. In December of that year, the school made a room available in CM. Ideas flowed, minds ran wild, the project took shape. Spongiflex being a name that seemed to “bring bad luck”, according to Marc Dikotter, of the Spongiflex 83 Committee, an ideas competition was launched and the name “Satellite” won. Since 1985, the Satellite Commission, nicknamed Sat, has been a thriving business: weekly concerts, a bar, a comic book library, backgammon and even billiards competitions. In 2006, following a KPMG audit and VAT risks, the Commission left AGEPoly and Satellite became an association.
